Long-term industry servant Neil Graham has lost his battle with ill-health
Logistics giant Mainfreight has paid tribute to long-serving director Neil Graham, who passed last week after a long fight with ill-health.
After joining in 1979 at the invitation of fellow founder Bruce Plested, Graham utilised his role as joint managing director to orchestrate the company’s strong position in the industry.
Mainfreight says for 32 years “Bruce and Neil oversaw Mainfreight’s growth together, laying the foundation and culture that sustain us toda..”
“In 2011, Neil stepped down from his role as director due to ill-health, but he maintained his passion for Mainfreight with regular visits to Christchurch branch, and of course ongoing contact with his many friends that are everywhere in the business.”
“Mainfreight has lost an integral connection with its past, but more than that, a staunch and true supporter – a special member of our family.”
The news follows the passing of former long-term chairman Sir Don Rowlands in March, who served Mainfreight from 1978 to 1989, and in 2011.
