Renschler appointed as Scania chairman in shake-up

Revamped Scania board sees new members including Hallberg, Falkengren and Piëch

 

Former Daimler Trucks chief Andreas Renschler has been appointed chairman of a new look Scania AB board.

Continuing in his recently appointed role as head of Volkswagen Truck and Bus, the holdings company that oversees the company’s commercial vehicle arm, Renschler will be joined on the Scania board by new members Per Hallberg, Annika Falkengren and Markus S. Piëch.

A member of Scania’s executive board since 2001, newly elevated Hallberg has taken over the vacant role as President and CEO of the Swedish company after Martin Lundstedt left to take the same position at Volvo Group.

Rounding out the seven members of the board are Peter Wallenberg jr, Helmut Aurenz and Christian Porsche, who continue in their posts since 2005, 2008 and 2014, respectively.
