Hino announces strong truck and bus figures

As the industry sees improvements, Hino says sales figures are on the rise year on year

In a year where the industry is gaining a little sales momentum, Hino is feeling buoyant, announcing strong year on year growth to the end of September.

Sales of its 300, 500 and 700 Series trucks have aided the manufacturer to a 15.6 per cent improvement on 2014, boosted by September truck and bus figures that rose 22.9 per cent in the month alone.

Figures from across the industry in September were positive, according to the Truck Industry Council’s (TIC) T-Mark numbers, with sales rising more than 1,000 vehicles for the second month in a row.

Put into context, the 2,865 units sold in September was the best result for that month in the last decade.

Hino says its growth was across the board, with light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty models up 17.5 per cent, 15 per cent and 6.7 per cent respectively.

“The 2015 sales results represent a fantastic effort from all involved,” Hino Australia chairman and CEO Steve Lotter says.

“It is a challenging climate for selling trucks, but I have no doubt that Hino Australia will work with the same vigour that earned us these great results for the remaining months of 2015.”
