50,000 Euro has been awarded to Team Southern Stars from the Scania workshop in Sydney, for besting international competition and earning the title of world’s best Scania service team.
The Scania Top Team 2013 world finals were held in Södertalje, Sweden, on the 21st and 22nd of November, and saw ten of the world’s best Scania service teams compete for the top spot.
Teams from Australia, Finland and New Zealand were strong enough in the semi-finals to earn a spot in the final-knock out round.
The one hour final round (available to watch here) shows the three teams competing in various categories, testing their skill and knowledge of Scania trucks.
Team Southern Stars, who are based in Preston, Sydney, were ecstatic to win the event. Phillip Sage, the team leader, said that the victory was “unbelievable” and “the best experience ever”.
The Australian team comprises of Phillip Sage, Graham Andrews, Michael Farrell, Logan Hoser and Benn Jeffery.
‘Team Kiwis’ from Whangerei managed a very respectable second place.
The Scania Top Team competition began in 1989, where it then evolved into an international event involving experts from 63 countries around the world.
