Brisbane refrigerator repair made easy with IVECO

Brisbane Valley Refrigeration has benefited greatly from its fleet of IVECO trucks.

Transport business owner Nick Pye has been searching for a point of difference in a large industry, and has found it with his fleet of IVECO trucks.

Pye owns and runs Brisbane Valley Refrigeration (BVR), offering on-site preventative maintenance, repair, servicing and a 24 hour breakdown service.

His business started small, with just himself working as a refrigeration technician servicing truck fleets, but has grown exponentially since 2018.

Pye and his workers drive a fleet of IVECO Daily trucks, which he says has been perfect for the work they’re undertaking.

He purchased his first IVECO Daily 50C cab chassis in 2019 and since then he’s consistently bought Daily 50C and 45C models, with six in total in the fleet.

“The Daily cab chassis offer an ideal specification for the type of work we do and the bodies we operate,” Pye says.

“The boys’ comfort and safety are important to us and the Daily excels here. Some weeks they can travel up to 2,500 kilometres and in the Daily they’re not getting fatigued from driving an uncomfortable truck.

“The cabin appointments and fully automatic transmission means driving the Daily whether on the open road or in traffic is easy.”

The fuel use has been a particular sticking point, Pye saying the efficiency on the trucks makes being on the job much easier.

“On longer trips we’re achieving 13 litres per 100km – this is better than what I’m getting in my ute with a tonne less weight on board,” he says.

“As a business owner I appreciate the lower day to day operating costs of the Dailys.

“I also like the fact that the Daily has generous service intervals of 50,000 kilometres or 12 months.”

The Dailys have been fitted with purpose-built Pantech service bodies that include an open rear work platform.

This allows Pye and his workers to carry out their repairs efficiently and safely, able to back up to a truck trailer and get easy access to cooling systems.

Although most of BVR’s work is conducted at customer sites, the team also operate a warehouse in Rocklea, a short drive from local dealer IVECO Brisbane from where the vehicles were purchased and are now maintained.
