The huge show featured more than 35,000 square metres of exhibition space, the only expo on the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre’s calendar that fills all three levels in total takeover of the venue.

HVIA CEO Todd Hacking, whose association is the show organiser, says the truck show is the biggest industry event in the country.

“What started back in 1968 as an event to connect members with their customers has become much more than that — a week-long festival of all things trucking,” he says.

“Amazingly, it now ranks as Australia’s largest industry exhibition and there are so many other events that run alongside the Truck Show that make it a compelling opportunity for everyone to get together in Brisbane every two years — as evidenced by this year’s eye-popping attendance”.

Daimler’s ProCabin Actros launch

The four-day event was blessed with clear skies for the majority of the days it was held and featured new additions including the popular Show N Shine competition held on Grey St, featuring 28 stunning trucks drawn from the winners lists of eight regional truck shows all around Australia.

The show was an opportunity for truck manufacturers to pull back the curtains on their new offerings too.

For the Kenworth lovers, PACCAR Australia revealed its new generation of wide cab models, the T320, T420, T620 and T620SAR.

The T420SAR features the PACCAR MX-13 engine, while the T620 and T620SAR are powered by the Cummins X15 Euro 6, rated to 625hp.

Scania returned to the show circle for the first time since 2019, showing off its big banger V8 770 S model prime mover fitted with a massive cab. It’s 16.4 litre engine produces
770 hp.

The Daimler stand was a sea of gleaming white trucks on a stylish grey backdrop, mixing both diesel and electric power. The new ProCabin Actros, which is not on sale until later this year in Australia and New Zealand, was one of the highlights of the collection, attracting plenty of audience attention.

New look Isuzu models on show

For Isuzu, with its first complete set of new model trucks in 17 years, the show was a chance to showcase the new look, the safety features and the base from which the company will offer more than 150 variations of model set-ups across the light, medium and heavy truck categories.

Iveco brought glam to town with a special Metallica truck catching the eye on its stand – an S-Way model set up to tow some of the gear needed to take the heavy metal band on tour here later this year.

Hyundai showed off its XCIENT fuel cell truck, and a newcomer DFAC light to medium truck, produced in China, was presented to the market for the first time by KRW Motor Group.

There were also stunning displays from trailer manufacturers and a vast array of suppliers to the truck industry offering everything from telematics, to bullbars, fuel, oil, lights, and branded merchandise.
