Hendrickson pulls out of Melbourne Truck Show

Suspension giant cites the success of the Brisbane Truck Show, high Melbourne fees and an unstable economic outlook

Axle and suspension specialist Hendrickson has withdrawn from next year’s International Truck Trailer and Equipment Show (ITTES) in Melbourne.

The company says it has decided to focus its promotional dollar on the bi-annual Brisbane Truck Show instead.

“This was not an easy decision to make,” says a company statement.

“However being a Melbourne based company with very strong representation at the local fleets and OEM’s, Hendrickson considered that there are more efficient lower cost methods of promoting their product range within the Melbourne context,” the statement says.

“The decision comes following the very successful truck show recently held in Brisbane, where Hendrickson had an extensive display of truck and trailer suspensions while celebrating its 100th birthday with a visit from the senior management team and an industry breakfast very well supported by most of the transport media companies.

“There was also overwhelming customer support from across the country and internationally, making the Brisbane Truck Show a very successful key calendar event.

“Supporting the many truck and trailer shows around the country comes at a considerable cost in an environment with ever-increasing business pressures, including the ITTES fees and an unstable economic outlook.”

The blow for the Melbourne Truck Show follows last month’s withdrawal by Cat Trucks, which also said it would focus on the Brisbane Truck Show, at which it pulled off two major awards earlier this year.
