The 2015 limited edition Kenworth T950 Legends will have pride of place when Bruce Gunter and David Chapman hold the inaugural Kenworth Klassic as part of the Clarendon Classic Rally in Sydney’s north west on September 17 and 18.

"This year being the first year, we thought that we would feature the T950 Legend – the newest kid on the block – such a popular truck," Bruce (pictured below) says.

It is unlikely all 75 of the limited edition trucks will attend, but they are all invited.

There is plenty of room at the Hawkesbury Showground, and Bruce hopes to attract at least 300 Kenworths of all ages, representing as many models as possible. The oldest is likely to be the rare circa 1930 model which David recently imported.

Bruce says the Kenworth Klassic was all David’s idea.

"David [pictured below] has got the enthusiasm but he thinks that, thanks to Haulin’ the Hume, I’ve got the organising skills." (Bruce founded the Haulin’ the Hume classic truck run.)

To spread the word about the Kenworth event, Bruce has created a closed Facebook group – ‘The Kenworth Klassic 2016’. The group had 900 members after a week and now has about 1600 members.

More than 3,500 people attended last year’s Clarendon Classic Rally which is conducted by Sydney Antique Machinery Club. Last year’s event attracted over 270 trucks representing a wide variety of brands and ages. Inclusion of the Kenworth Klassic is expected to make the 2016 event even bigger.

There is no charge to show a truck at the Kenworth Klassic or Clarendon Classic Rally, but it is necessary to register. Information and registration forms can be found at www.sydneyantiquemachineryclub.com.

In the July issue of Owner//Driver we talk to Sydney operator Ray Marshall who owns two Legend T950s and plans to attend the Kenworth Klassic.
