European light commercial vehicle marques Iveco and Mercedes-Benz monopolised search and enquiries activity across the Bauer Media Group classifieds network in the first seven months of 2019
Iveco was by far the most-searched and enquired-upon light commercial vehicle (LCV) brand on the Bauer Media Group truck and machinery classifieds network in the period January 1–July 23, 2019, exclusive new data reveals.
Almost 650 second-hand LCVs are currently advertised for sale across the network comprising Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.au, TradeTrucks.com.au, TradeEarthmovers.com.au, TradeFarmMachinery.com and TradePlantEquipment.com.au – reaching an average of almost 500,000 ‘unique’ in-market buyers each and every month.
LCVs – including utes, vans and cab-chassis – accounted for just 0.66 per cent of searches in the period.
Of the key brands, Iveco – which comprises more than half of total stock for sale – dominated buyer interest, accounting for 91.5 per cent of total searches. The Italian make also monopolised enquiries, with more than one-third heading its way.
With close to half the available stock for sale, fellow European marque Mercedes-Benz was the second most-searched brand, accounting for 3.1 per cent of searches and a little more than 10 per cent of enquiries.
Notably, Ford – while comprising just 4.1 per cent of stock – was the subject of 1.9 per cent of searches and just over 13 per cent of enquiries.
Rounding out the top 6 were Fiat (1.4 per cent of searches; 1.64 per cent of enquiries), Volkswagen (0.5 per cent of searches; 2 per cent of enquiries) and Toyota (0.7 per cent of searches; 10.7 per cent of enquiries).
DIESEL, DIRT AND DUST
While trucks were also among the most-searched product types on Bauer Media Group’s earthmoving and farm machinery classifieds network in the period.
Almost 18,000 trucks, trailers, and parts and accessories for sale on Bauer’s transport websites – Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.au and TradeTrucks.com.au – are also syndicated across its machinery network comprising TradeEarthmovers.com.au, TradeFarmMachinery.com and TradePlantEquipment.com.au.
Tractors (24.3 percent) and excavators (11.1 per cent) were the two most-searched product types on these sites, followed by tillage and seeders (9.2 per cent), loaders (8.1 per cent) and dozers (6 per cent).
Trucks ranked the sixth most-searched product type in the period, accounting for 5 per cent of all searches.
