Fuso wins 650 truck order for Australia and Malaysia

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has favourable new year orders in Asia-Pacific region.

Daimler Japanese subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has kicked off the new year with a favourable orders position in the Asia-Pacific export markets of Australia and Malaysia.

Included in the order is Australian freight and logistic company StarTrack, which is supplementing its existing fleet of 3,000 trucks with 185 new vehicles of the light-duty type Fuso Canter.

In 2011, Star Track established itself as operator of the largest fleet of hybrid vehicles on the Australian continent. The fleet consists of Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid commercial trucks.

In Malaysia, waste disposal company Southern Waste Management (SWM) has purchased 466 new Fuso Fighter trucks, adding to its 474 Fuso vehicles currently in operation.

This now makes SWM Malaysia’s largest operator of Fuso trucks. SWM is responsible for the collection, transport and disposal of all kinds of waste on the entire southern peninsula of Malaysia.

Fuso says these two large orders for a total of 650 light-duty Fuso Canter trucks and medium-duty Fuso Fighter trucks underscore the company´s commitment to sell 200,000 commercial vehicles per year in international markets in the medium term.
