Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show revs up for another year

The Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show is back this weekend, kicking off a jam-packed calendar of truck shows in 2025.

With an impressive display of vintage trucks, tractors, cars and machinery, plus a tractor pull, cannon firings, military re-enactments and much more, there’ll be something for everyone at the Geelong Showgrounds on January 11 and 12.

Event organiser Angela Reynolds tells Deals on Wheels that the event will be a great day out for the whole family.

“We’re very much a family friendly event,” she said.

“Our ticket prices are $15 for adults and children under the age of 15 are free, so it’s a cheap family day out during the school holidays.

“If you’re starting to get a bit of cabin fever at home, it’s a good chance to get out and about!”

The Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show boasts the “biggest and best” display of restored working vintage machinery and tractors in Australia and attracts people from all over this country.

In the Vintage Machinery section, you can find more than 15 fully operational steam engines, 12 permanently installed oil engines, a 1000 Horsepower Marine Steam Engine, a Wool Scouring Machine, and a large collection of steam models.

The event is also well-attended by local clubs and groups like Lego Club, Meccano Club and other Model Clubs.

“There’ll be a model boat display, model aircraft and remote-controlled trucks, which are always favourites with the kids as well as adults,” Reynolds adds.

As for the truck show, there won’t be any awards on the day – but it’s an ideal opportunity to show off your pride and joy.

“There’s no competition, it’s all about just coming out and having a great time,” Reynolds says.

“When it comes to trucks – the older the better!

“We’ve got a really good group of people who bring their trucks every year and some cool new things that roll through as well.

“We’re excited to see what turns up.”
