Hitchcocks Haulage swear by Western Star and Detroit engines

All adorned in a stunning blue with blinding chrome work, their 2023 Western Star 4800 stood out at the recent Kyabram Mack Muster.

Colin Hitchcock says their entire fleet is Western Star, specifically with Detroit engines.

“The truck we took to Kyabram was the very last 4800 Western Star to ever come into Australia before they cut off the Constellation series,” Colin says.

“That’s why it has the number plate LAST 48 on it.”

It’s fitted with a spacious sleeper cab and is powered by a Detroit DD15 engine that purrs beautifully.

The rig’s impeccable chrome work was all custom fitted, only the best for Hitchcocks.

“We chose custom accessories and wrapped stainless tanks,” he says.

“We even put on some additional lights and extra stainless accessories.”

Hitchcocks Haulage is a 100 per cent family-owned company that saw the brother and sister team of Colin and Jayne purchase the transport equipment from their parents in 2005.

It’s safe to say this rig is put to good work by the duo.

Despite being such a showstopper, the rig is mainly used to tow the trailer that carries older trucks they have restored around to the shows.

If you ask us, we think it deserves just as much attention.
