The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has announced the 2015 Cummins South Pacific TMC scholarship winners, who will each attend the Paccar & Dealer Technical and Maintenance Conference (TMC) in October.
Ostwald Bros Transport’s Gemma Hardwig, Blenner’s Transport and Storage’s Andrew Southern, and Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage’s Jacob Woods each receive a full delegate registration and accommodation to the industry event in Melbourne.
ATA CEO Christopher Melham says the event and the scholarship program, running since 2012 and open to Australian service technicians under 25 years of age, is about the future of the industry.
“It’s fantastic to see so many businesses training our next generation of workshop staff,” Melham says.
“If your business has an outstanding young person in your workshop, I encourage you to consider taking them to TMC with you.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to develop their skills and expose them to the industry.”
Attendees will have the choice of a range of technical sessions, compliance forums and best practice workshops, depending on their relevant interests.
Plus, as confirmed in July, event goers will have the option to attend a session hosted by three state heavy vehicle inspectors who will discuss common roadside faults and the regulatory differences between states.
TMC 2015 takes place from Monday, October 26 to Wednesday, October 28 at the Automotive Centre of Excellence at the Kangan Institute in Melbourne.
