Unsung truckie heroes honoured at National Road Transport Hall of Fame

This year the National Road Transport Hall of Fame once again celebrates the achievements and lifetime commitment of the Australian road transport community who keep Australia moving.

After 17 years of sponsorship, Shell Rimula has once again stepped up to the plate as the official sponsor of the three-day event running from August 25 to 27.

The event will be headlined by the coveted inductee ceremony taking place on Saturday morning, which will see 75 road transport heroes inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame.

Lubricants Team Leader for Shell’s Licensee, Paul Fisher, emphasises the company’s excitement and passion for the road transport industry and its committed members.

“We’re excited to be part of the 2017 event and to welcome the 75 inductees into the prestigious Shell Rimula Wall of Fame,” Fisher said.

“We’re proud of Australia’s road transport heritage, and Shell’s place within that history, and are committed to recognising the individuals of the road transport community for their life-long dedication.”

The weekend kicks off with a breakfast on the Friday to celebrate Australian women who have helped shape the industry.

The main event, the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame Ceremony, takes place the following morning before the 2017 Shell Rimula Wall of Fame Dinner Dance that evening.

“As the heart of Australia what better place than Alice Springs to bring our road transport community together to celebrate the industry’s enduring commitment to keep the country moving and to recognise the individuals inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame,” said National Road Transport Hall of Fame CEO, Liz Martin OAM.

For more than a century, Shell has shown ongoing support to the longevity of the road transport community in Australia, delivering trusted lubricants to enhance fuel efficiency and offer increased protection for equipment.
