The video footage was posted to the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) Facebook page and chief executive Ben Maguire says it’s only a select couple of drivers giving the industry a bad name.

After the footage was released Highway Patrol officers reportedly identified the truck driver who is set to be charged.

“This is nonsense, enough is enough, leave these people alone,” Maguire told Triple M’s Moffee on breakfast radio.

“I think it’s not a representation of the industry, it’s not us, it’s a couple of people.

“It’s very frustrating and I know the police are taking a pretty hard line on it.

“The rest opf the industry are highly resposible and mature people.”

Maguire says truckies are against the behaviour and are taking a stand alongside the ATA.

“We’ve been getting a lot of support from trucking operators everywhere because we’re taking a stand on this.”
