Fittingly, a truck driver is the winner of the Brisbane Truck Show giveaway of a new Toyota HiLux Rugged X.

For John Xuereb, from Mangrove Mountain in New South Wales, the happy news is a huge payoff for his devotion to the event.

Xuereb has been to every Brisbane Truck Show since 2009 and is already planning his 2021 trip.

Along with his other half, Charlene, he was on hand yesterday to pick up the key to the HiLux from Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) CEO Todd Hacking.

"The top-of-the-line 4x4 double-cab pick-up is a perfect fit for the Toyota lovers and will upgrade their older-model Prado," an HVIA spokesperson says.

The ute was a major drawcard at the Brisbane Truck Show, and HVIA thanked promotion partners: CMV Truck & Bus; Bauer Trader Media through ATN and Owner//Driver; and CMI Toyota, as well as Brian Hilton Motor Group, which hosted the presentation.
