ATA and NTI strengthen industry link

Insurance provider announced as ATA associate member

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has announced the National Transport Insurance (NTI) as an associate member, granting it participation in ATA internal committees such as the Industry Technical Council and General Council.

ATA Chair Geoff Crouch welcomes the insurance provider, which has close to 45 years’ experience in the industry “and has been a long-time supporter of Australia’s trucking industry”.

“Since 1991, NTI has been an ATA Foundation Sponsor and I’m pleased that today’s meeting of the ATA General Council has welcomed them as an associate member.

“Throughout the years, NTI has been actively involved in ATA initiatives to improve industry safety, professionalism and viability.

“One of the most exciting of these initiatives is our redesigned Safety Truck, to be launched later this year.

“This campaign will use state-of-the-art technology to educate young drivers and vulnerable road users about how they can share the road safely with trucks,” he said.

NTI’s National Truck Accident Research Centre (NTARC) regularly conducts studies into trucking industry crash trends.

NTI is also a sponsor of the ATA’s National Trucking Industry Awards, with general manager of commercial Michael Edmonds lauding the strengthened link between them.

“At NTI we are committed to the safety and sustainability of the Australian trucking industry. Being accepted as an associate member of the ATA extends on our foundation sponsor position that we’ve proudly held for the past 30 years, and assists in achieving our vision of a safer and more sustainable future,” he says.
