Kenworth was again the most-searched truck brand on Bauer Media’s truck and machinery classifieds network in the period January 1–September 12, 2019, exclusive new data reveals.

More than 6,300 used trucks – from Atkinsons to Whites – are currently advertised for sale across the network comprising Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.au, TradeTrucks.com.au, TradeEarthmovers.com.au, TradeFarmMachinery.com and TradePlantEquipment.com.au – reaching an average of almost 500,000 ‘unique’ in-market buyers each and every month.

Despite accounting for just over 7 per cent of total trucks for sale across the network, Kenworth generated a whopping 33.9 per cent of searches in the period.

This is almost triple the number of searches for the second most-searched make, Isuzu, which accounted for 12.6 per cent of all searches off the back of 18.35 per cent of stock, and ahead of Mack (4.6 per cent of stock; 11.5 per cent of searches), Volvo (4.8 per cent of stock; 6.65 per cent of searches), Hino (16.6 per cent of stock; 6 per cent of searches), Western Star (3 per cent of stock; 5.15 per cent of searches), Freightliner (4.7 per cent of stock; 3.86 per cent of searches), Scania (2.4 per cent of stock; 3.5 per cent of searches), International (2.1 per cent of stock; 2.5 per cent of searches) and Iveco (4 per cent of stock; 2.3 per cent of searches).

Conversely, Isuzu ranked first for the most enquired-upon brand in the period, generating 20 per cent of total enquiries; ahead of Kenworth at 14.9 per cent.

Rounding out the top five most enquired-upon brands were Hino (10 per cent), Volvo (7.2 per cent) and Mack (5.9 per cent).

Big jiggers remain prime movers

Prime movers were the most-searched truck class on Bauer Media’s truck and machinery classifieds network in the period January 1–September 12, 2019, exclusive new data reveals.

Accounting for 25 per cent of total trucks for sale, prime movers generated almost 30 percent of searches in the period, ahead of tippers (17 per cent of stock; 22.3 per cent of searches), tilt trays (0.7 per cent of stock; 4.7 per cent of searches), crane trucks (2.7 per cent of stock; 4.5 per cent of searches) and tray trucks (13.8 per cent of stock; 3.97 per cent of searches).

Prime movers were also the most-enquired upon truck class in the period (32 per cent), with tippers (17 per cent), tray trucks (11.5 per cent), pantechs (8 per cent) and curtainsiders (7.26 per cent) rounding out the top five.
