Huge heavy haulage asset sale spruiked

Circumstances of equipment sale featuring Toll livery undisclosed

An equipment sale comprising more than 100 heavy haulage assets is being flagged to the Australian market.

The sale comes after a deal was signed between auctioneer Ritchie Bros, global advisory, restructuring, and investment firm Gordon Brothers and “one of Australia’s largest national freight companies” to “disperse” the assets including 26 prime movers and 91 trailers and dollies.

While a spokesperson for parties involved would not disclose the circumstances of the sale, telling ATN the specific details are commercially sensitive, images of the listings display Toll livery.

The retiring Mackay Haulage directors drew huge interest for their fleet sale

A statement explains Kenworth Trucks and Drake trailers make up the majority of assets in the fleet, which includes 156 prime mover axles, and 308 trailer and dolly axles – with a gross combination mass equal to 4,512 tonnes.

Ritchie Bros Australian Pacific sales director Finlay Massey notes early sales in the equipment has exceeded expectations, “with half the machines already sold and plenty of interest from buyers locally and globally for the remainder of gear”.

“The deal combines our capacity to deploy capital as a balance sheet-led-business with Ritchie Bros. track record in the overseas market and strong execution platform with a global reach,” Gordon Brothers managing director Fenton Healy adds.
