Decision makers flock to Bauer Media Group’s transport and machinery websites in record numbers to keep up to date on important industry news

Audience numbers up for Bauer Media

The outbreak of COVID-19 has seen record numbers of industry decision makers turn to Bauer Media Group’s transport, construction and farming industry websites as the trusted source of the latest industry news as well as research, compare and buy vital tools of the trade.

Google Analytics data covering the period April 1-26 shows average daily visits to the group’s four transport industry websites were up 20 per cent month-on-month (+5.4 per cent year-on-year) , led by Owner Driver (+43 per cent MoM / +25.9 per cent YoY), and followed closely by ATN’s Fullyloaded.com.au (+17.9 per cent MoM / +19 per cent YoY), TradeTrucks.com.au (+10.9 per cent) and ABC’s BusNews.com.au (+6.5 per cent).

Visits to the group’s machinery websites were up an even stronger 32.7 per cent MoM (+10.5 per cent YoY), with TradeFarmMachinery.com.au +36.1 per cent MoM (+8 per cent YoY), TradeEarthmovers.com.au +30.7 per cent MoM (+14.4 YoY) and TradePlantEquipment.com.au +17 per cent MoM (+11.2 per cent YoY). Trucks, trailers, and parts and accessories listed on Bauer Media Group’s transport websites are syndicated across these three websites.

On top of increased reach, audiences are engaging longer on the websites too, with average session duration up across the board MoM – led by TradeTrucks.com.au (+17.42 per cent), TradeFarmMachinery.com.au (+10.35 per cent), and TradeEarthmovers.com.au (+9.9 per cent).

And, most importantly, they’re searching and enquiring on stock items for sale more than ever – average daily enquiries on Bauer Media Group’s transport websites are up 18 per cent MoM, including BusNews.com.au (+79 per cent), OwnerDriver.com.au (+51 per cent), Fullyloaded.com.au (+31 per cent) and TradeTrucks.com.au (+14 per cent).

Similarly, average daily enquiries on Bauer Media Group’s machinery websites were up 37 per cent MoM and 47 per cent YoY, led by TradePlantEquipment.com.au (+46 per cent MoM / +48 per cent YoY), and closely followed by TradeFarmMachinery.com.au (+44 per cent MoM / +67 per cent YoY) and TradeEarthmovers.com.au (+26 per cent MoM and YoY).

Distribution of Deals on Wheels magazine has almost doubled with the launch of a new digital edition.

Kicking off with the March issue, Bauer Media Group is now offering Deals on Wheels’ 15,500 magazine and e-newsletter subscribers a complimentary digital copies of our market-leading print title. This is on top of the 17,000-odd printed magazines that continue to be distributed through newsagencies, truck stops, and industry partners such as NatRoad.

While distribution via traditional retail channels remains unchanged, the introduction of the digital edition recognises that Deals on Wheels’ readers normal work and/or travel patterns may have altered due to the Coronavirus.

This initiative will guarantee Deals on Wheels maintains its long-held position as the most read and respected source of news and information to owner drivers and small fleet operators, in print and online.
