The trucking industry is being asked to aid the search of four-year-old Cleo Smith, whose disappearance has sparked a police hunt.

Smith had been camping at the Blowholes campsite in Macleod, north of Carnarvon, when she disappeared early Saturday October 16.

The incident has spurred a $1 million reward from the state government "for information that results in finding Cleo or the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in her suspicious disappearance".

Supporting police pleas for public help, particularly with dashcam video, Western Australia’s Western Roads Federation (WRF) has made its own call more broadly in hope of gaining the widest possible coverage.

"Companies are urgently asked to check with drivers, including subbies, who may have been on the North West Coastal highway route (or vicinity of Carnavon) in the Mid/West Gascoyne area on Friday 15 and 16 October 2021," the industry body says.

"Police are seeking dashcam footage or information.

"Cleo was last seen at 0130hrs on the Saturday 16 October 2021 at the Blowholes campsite in Macleod, north of Carnarvon.

"Police are currently looking for a 'smaller vehicle, probably a passenger vehicle" seen driving south towards Carnarvon between 0300 and 0330hrs.

"Anyone with information or dashcam footage captured in that area around that time are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."

More police information on the disappearance and images of the girl and her belongings can be found here.
