Last chance for freight awards nominations

There are just five days left for transport staff to nominate someone for a shot at this year's Australian Freight Industry Awards

Time is running out for those in the transport industry to nominate a fellow worker for one of seven categories included in the 2024 Australian Freight Industry Awards.

Participants have until Monday, August 12 to finalise their entries in the prestigious awards which are organised by the Victorian Transport Association and have now entering their 35th year.

Categories being contested this year are:

  • Women’s Leadership Award
  • Investment in People Award
  • Best Practice Safety Award
  • Application of Technology Award
  • Green Star Award
  • Emerging Leader Award
  • Waste & Recycling Business of the Year Award
  • Personality of the Year Award

In describing the Awards the organisers say: “It doesn’t matter how large or small your operation or business is because the AFIA’s are decided on merit and the quality of the entry, and not the size of the operation.

“Over the 34 years of the awards, we’ve had dozens of small and medium size businesses win or be shortlisted.

“So, if there is a particular achievement of your business, or of individuals or teams within your business, across the various categories that deserves recognition, please submit a nomination. As they say, you have to be in it to win it!”

Rewards criteria can be found at www.afiawards.com.au and entries are welcomed from all parts of the freight, logistics and transport industry.

Nominations can also be submitted online here with a deadline of close of business, Monday, 12 August.
