Nominations open for National Trucking Industry Awards

Nominations for the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) National Trucking Industry Awards are now open.

The prestigious awards recognise businesses and individuals who have gone above and beyond the requirements of their role to improve their workplace and the industry.

These awards are presented annually across the Australian Trucking Association’s Trucking Australia and Technology & Maintenance conferences.

Nominations close on March 8 2024!

The Australian Trucking Association presents national awards in eight categories:

Outstanding Contribution to the Trucking Industry – recognises the commitment of an individual or an organisation to improving the trucking industry through their operation or their contribution to industry activities.

The winner will receive $5,000 cash, a trophy, and will also be hosted to attend Trucking Australia the following year, including the ATA Foundation Sponsors’ Gala Awards Dinner.

National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year – recognises the strong professional or personal contribution made by a woman within the Australian trucking industry.

The winner will receive a one-week international travel package for the winner and their partner to visit the Cummins factory in the United States. Return airfares, accommodation, transfers and meals to the value of $10,000 +GST are included in the prize package.

The winner will also be hosted to attend Trucking Australia the following year, including the ATA Foundation Sponsors’ Gala Awards Dinner.

National Professional Driver of the Year – recognises the outstanding performance of a professional truck driver, including driving skill, attitude and contribution to industry improvement.

The winner will receive $5,000 cash and will also be hosted to attend Trucking Australia the following year, including the ATA Foundation Sponsors’ Gala Awards Dinner.

National Training Excellence Award – recognises transport operators’ pro-active action to improve their organisation’s training strategy, and to improve their safety culture.

The winner receives a trophy, and will also be hosted to attend Trucking Australia the following year, including the ATA Foundation Sponsors’ Gala Awards Dinner.

Don Watson Memorial Award – recognises a person who has given conspicuous service to the Australian trucking industry. The winner is selected from a range of exceptional people who do not need to nominate to be considered.

The winner will receive a trophy, media publicity and accolades from the many industry representatives attending the ATA Foundations Sponsors Gala Dinner at the ATA’s annual national conference, Trucking Australia, where the winner is announced.

TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award – recognises a TruckSafe accredited operator that has implemented and promoted the program in an exceptional fashion. This operator fosters a strong culture of safety in every part of their business.

The winner will receive a trophy, media publicity and accolades from the many industry representatives attending the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Dinner, where the winner is announced.

Two (2) complimentary full delegate passes to the 2025 New Zealand Trucking Industry Show on 7-8 March 2025. Prize includes return economy airfares for two to Christchurch and 5-nights accommodation in Christchurch.

Castrol Vecton Industry Achievement Award – recognises technical innovation and achievement within the Australian trucking industry. The winner is selected from a range of exceptional people who do not need to nominate to be considered.

The winner will receive a trophy, media publicity and accolades from the many industry representatives attending the Technology and Maintenance Conference, where the winner is announced.

Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence –  recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop by an individual. It celebrates the professionalism of the men and women who work behind the scenes in the trucking industry’s workshops.

The winner will receive a fully paid trip to Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to attend a US Technology and Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition including:

  • Return airfares to the United States of America
  • Full registration to attend a US Technology and Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition
  • 5 nights premium conference accommodation
  • Partners’ program registration if applicable
  • AUD $1,500 spending money
  • Complimentary registration to the next in-person ATA Technology and Maintenance Conference
