This marks a significant milestone in sustainable freight transport as KCA’s first electric truck and aligns with Ofload’s ongoing push to decarbonise Australia’s supply chains.
The transport sector is Australia’s fastest-growing source of emissions and is projected to become the largest by 2030. This initiative demonstrates how leading brands can take immediate action to cut emissions in supply chains while proving that electric trucks are a viable, scalable solution for freight operations today.
“This isn’t just about one electric truck on the road, it marks a pivotal moment where we prove the viability, efficiency, and significant carbon reductions that electric freight can deliver at scale. This is the future of logistics, and we’re leading the way,” Ofload CEO Geoffroy Henry says.
The truck will be leased by sustainably focused TR Group, who recently launched a zero-emission hydrogen truck.
KCA head of supply chain ANZ Jessica Renton says as a major manufacturer of essential products found in many Aussie homes, KCA is committed to reducing their environmental impact.
“Our freight partnership with Ofload is a key lever within our supply chain and we’re proud to partner with them on this transformative project,” she says.
By leveraging Ofload’s nationwide carrier network, this launch sets a precedent for the wider adoption of electric freight vehicles, providing a blueprint for leading brands and logistics providers looking to transition towards zero-emission transport.
