Navman Wireless launches fridge van monitor

Navman Wireless, well-known for its GPS fleet management technology, is branching out into temperature control.

On releasing its new temperature monitoring and tracking solution, the company says the application provides real-time remote data capture of temperatures in rigid or trailer fridge vans.

It estimates there are about 60,000 temperature controlled vehicles or trailers across Australasia.

“Our new solution will help fleet businesses in this particular market to not only ensure merchandise is kept and delivered at the correct temperature but also to reduce customers’ rejection of loads which can be very costly for businesses,” Asia Pacific Vice President Ian Daniel says.

The company says its new technology allows businesses to simultaneously view temperature and vehicle location data, and alerts are triggered by out-of-range conditions.

The temperature monitoring tool also provides historical information.
