Daysworth takes to the highways

Terminal tractor firm busts out of port confines with vehicle certified for open roads

Terminal tractor firm Daysworth has sought to break out of port confines with the Daysworth Ottawa 60T 6×4 that can be used on highways.

The company put the moved down to customer demand for a multi-purpose terminal tractor that is Australian Design Rules (ADR) certified for open roads.

Powered by the Cummins ISB 300 HP Euro 5 emission-rated engine, the new 6×4 is one of the first heavy-duty models available in Australia that meets the internationally accepted Euro 5 emission standard, Daysworth International Managing Director Ivan Vodanovich says, adding that the new Euro 5 compliant meets the changing needs of the Australian market.

“The Daysworth Ottawa 60T 6×4 has been developed to address concerns about how the transport industry is addressing environmental issues and to meet the demand for road ready terminal tractors,” Vodanovich stated at the Brisbane Truck Show.

“It is the logical choice for the increasing number of distribution operations with dispersed warehouses and terminals where short-distance highway travel is required.

“It is the most important piece of equipment to enter the ‘just-in-time’ supply chain industry for many years.”

Also exhibited in Brisbane was the Daysworth Kalmar TR618i Heavy ro-ro and Industrial terminal tractor.
