Mercedes-Benz Econic Recall

11 Vehicles are affected by the Econic recall, which is caused by a possibly incorrectly tensioned cab tilt cylinder lock nut, which in extreme cases may allow the cab tilt pivot pin to disengage.

This could potentially cause a hazard to other road users if the front of the cylinder drops onto the road.

Affected trucks were available for sale between February 1 and May 31st of 2013, and letters have been sent to their owners.

Isuzu F-Series Crew Cab Recall

Isuzu F-Series Crew Cab trucks with 6HK1 engines are being recalled as they may have an issue with the engine insulation “sagging and contacting the high temperature side of the EGR cooler,” according to the ACCC notice.

In extreme cases this could cause the insulator to burn out.

A list of Vehicle Identification Numbers of the affected vehicles is provided in pdf format here.

Western Star 4900 and 6900 Recall

Finally, Western Star 4900 and 6900 trucks that were fitted with Gunite model Automatic Slack Adjusters and were manufactured between 15th October 2010 and 31st of January 2011 are being recalled.

The slack adjusters may have housings which may fail under normal operating loads, potentially resulting in the “loss of function of the brake assembly for that wheel,’ which would cause reduced braking capacity.
