Drake Trailers releases new steerable low loader

Drake Trailers releases low loader with rear steering, widening axles.

Trailer manufacturer Drake Trailers has released a new low loader that has rear steering capabilities. The new trailer, called the Rear Steering Full Widener, is said to offer improved manoeuvrability and efficiency.

Drake Trailers says that the trailer helps to reduce wear on running gear and tyres during turning by having steerable axles at the rear of the trailer. The trailer is also said to minimise health and safety concerns by helping to maintain roll stability.

Drake say that several clients have already had their hands on the trailers and that they have been happy with the results thus far.

“Our first client to purchase it, Hi-Tech Heavy Haulage, is able to carry over dimensional loads and get into locations around New South Wales that were previously too difficult with a standard trailer,” Drake Trailers lead project engineer Vladimi Mirkovic says.

In addition to the Rear Steering Full Widener, Drake has also launched a range of other trailers, including new tilt slides, drop decks and mine site transporters. Drake Trailers says that the new range is designed to fulfil multiple requirements and meet the needs of a diverse market.
