Concern that vibration may cause airbag to open in error
The Renault Kangoo II light van is the subject of a limited recall notice.
Owners of affected vehicles are advised the airbag may deploy inadvertently, posing an accident hazard.
Vans with vehicle identification numbers between VF1FW0ZHCD0698809 and VF1FW52B6D0688055 are the focus but not all vehicles within the range are affected.
“Where the airbag wiring has moved due to significant vehicle vibration, the driver’s front airbag wiring may be damaged by a steel part of the horn control,” the notice reads.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified to contact a Renault dealer to arrange for inspection and rectification of their vehicle.
