Navistar LoneStar Blade faces Brisbane spotlight

Show truck to feature in Navistar Auspac presentation at Brisbane Truck Show

Navistar Auspac, the Australian and New Zealand arm of North American trucking giant Navistar, has something special for visitors of the Brisbane Truck Show, with the LoneStar Blade show truck making an appearance.

Leading the International charge, the 1,000-horsepower show special will be shipped in from Navistar headquarters in Chicago to not only announce the return of International, but also highlight the company’s design skills and engineering initiatives.

With an array of customised features, the Blade has been constructed on a stretched, 7.7m wheelbase and developed from the International LoneStar launched at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky in 2008.

While the Blade marks the first appearance of LoneStar in Australia, it won’t be the only news from Navistar at the show. As reported on April 7, Navistar Auspac will be returning the International Truck brand to Australian shores in 2015.

The company’s director, sales, marketing and business development, Glen Sharman, says the brand will make a full factory-backed return down under.

“International has a long and proud history with Australian truck operators and Navistar’s absolute intention is to build on the brand’s strong heritage with trucks developed to carry the traditions of cost-effective dependability far into the future,” he says.

The show will mark 12 months since NC2 Global Australia rebranded to Navistar Auspac (Australia-Pacific) and a six-month milestone for the company’s new managing director Tim Quinlan.

Further details of the return will become available at the Brisbane Truck Show in May, the company says.
