Hino Australia to cut half-century cake at at Brisbane Truck Show
Hino Australia is marking 50 years in Australia with a birthday cake at the Brisbane Truck Show, product updates and a promotional video featuring long-serving partner Kennards Hire.
The truck maker, which launched in 1965, says a cake will be cut at the show to celebrate the milestone, flanked by a truck from the past and models from its current range, including the newly released long wheelbase variant of the 500 Series FE Auto.
“For over 50 years Hino has been providing quality trucks and buses to the Australian market,” Hino Australia chairman and CEO Steve Lotter says.
“From the first bus sold in 1965 to the introduction of the first hybrid truck to be made available in Australia in 2007, the durability and reliability of our trucks and buses has been legendary.
“This continues today, and our offerings in the 300 Series light duty, 500 Series medium duty and 700 Series heavy duty lines inherit these qualities while offering levels of safety, performance, efficiency and comfort that you’d expect from a progressive, Toyota-affiliated truck company.”
The first Hino truck to be imported into Australia was in 1971 by Theiss Toyota, 54 years after the production of the first model TGE ‘A-Type’ truck in Japan.
In 2014, Hino had over 150 different models of trucks on the market.
The Kennards Hire video documents three generations of the family-owned rental business that supplies a range of products from trucks to jackhammers, including Hino 300 and 500 Series models.
