Japanese manufacturer Isuzu is bringing the FYJ 2000 8x4 optimised agitator model, with a full 7.5-cubic-metre bowl, to the Brisbane Truck Show in May.

Designed to suit the heavy-duty truck market segment from agitators, waste, earthmoving equipment floating and hook-lift bins to mixed freight, the Isuzu FYJ range, available in 8x4 and 10x4 configurations, feature a load-sharing twin-steer front axle, Isuzu or Hendrickson airbag rear suspension and the option of a Eaton-Fuller 10-speed, Allison 4430 Automatic or German-built ZF 9-speed transmission.

With the ability to haul 42,500kg, the Isuzu FYJ 2000 8x4 is powered by a SiTEC III 350 diesel engine, available in long or extra-long variants and kept on the road by Meritor front and rear axles.

Isuzu’s DAVE infotainment system is also included, offering digital radio, DVD, MP3, voice-control and Bluetooth connectivity, while sat-nav and tyre-pressure monitoring are extras.

Isuzu will be looking forward to demoing the 8x4 to the Brisbane public after the FYJ 2000 8x4 Auto model took out ‘Truck of the Show’ at the Melbourne Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show (ITTES) last year.

Visitors to the show looking to inspect the Isuzu the new FSR 700 Auto will also be in luck, with the Japanese company set to display the medium-to-heavy F Series model at the event.

Launched midway through 2014, the FSR 700 Auto is equipped with 176kW of power and 706Nm of torque and driven by a six-cylinder, Isuzu SiTEC 235 engine.

The locally engineered, 4x2 rigid has an Allison LCT 2500 auto transmission, 3.79m wheel base and a tare weight of 3,820kg.

"The Isuzu Trucks stand at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show showcases the foundations of the company’s long-term success – a comprehensive range of models with the right mix of power, performance, economy and reliability," the company says.

"With a mix of new releases and some tried and true favourites, there’s something for everyone on stand No 1, Foyer Level, Great Hall."
