Dick Johnson to headline Penske stand with Western Star, Man and Dennis Eagle models on show

Penske Commercial Vehicles is packing a lot into the Brisbane Truck Show with former racing driver, and team owner, Dick Johnson to join a number of Western Star trucks, MAN trucks and Dennis Eagle trucks at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The five-time Australian Touring Car Champion and DJR Team Penske V8 Supercar team owner will be making appearances at the Western Star truck stand on Thursday May 14, from 2pm and on Friday May 15, from 11am.

An Indy Car will also be on hand for show goers but the main attraction may be the DJR Team Penske V8 Supercar, a 5.0 litre Ford Falcon FG X that debuted at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide in 2013.

With a top speed of over 298km per hour, the car has been raced by Tim Blanchard, Scott Pye and Ash Walsh.

For those only interested in heavy vehicles, Western Star is preparing a large line-up of trucks, with the 6900 FXC road train prime mover, 4900FXT prime mover, 4800FXB B-double prime mover, set-back axle 5800SS Aerodynamic, 4700SB 8×4 Agitator and the all-new 2800 4×2 Tautliner to be on show.

From MAN, there will be a TGX 26.560 BLS 6×4 Euro 6 prime mover with a XLX cab, new 15.2 litre D38 engine and new front design; a TGX 26.480 BLS 6×4 Euro 6 prime mover with a XL cab, D26 engine and new front design; and a TGS 26.440 BLS 6×4 Euro 5 prime mover with a L cab and D20 engine.

The Penke stand will also feature a MAN TGL 12.250 BL 4×2 Euro 5 rigid chassis with a crew cab and fitted with a Bozmac tilt tray body for Swift Towing.

A dual-control Elite 2 side loader and a hybrid truck from specialist vehicle manufacturer Dennis Eagle will squeeze in too.
