Truck show to host cold chain risk management forum

Refrigeration equipment and the cold chain delivery process to be discussed during the Brisbane Truck Show

Thermal performance of transport equipment and successful refrigerated delivery processes are to be put on the agenda at the cold chain risk management forum being held during the first two days of the Brisbane Truck Show.

Sponsored by refrigerator manufacturer Carrier Transicold, the forum will be hosted by the director of global marketing and technical support at Unicla Compressors and founder of SuperCool Asia Pacific, Mark Mitchell, and cover three steps in the modern cold chain, the refrigeration unit, the insulated body and the process itself.

According to Carrier Transicold, the "discussion will focus on the critical equipment selection process to develop the best transport refrigeration package involving truck & trailer body thermal efficiency, and the critical control points in the delivery process."

Mitchell, who has worked in the industry for two decades, will also be referencing the HACCP guidelines and the AS4982-2003 Australian Standard - Thermal performance of refrigerated transport equipment - Specification and testing and the Australian Cold Chain Guidelines for Food - 2013.

The first 90-minute session will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 1pm, followed by a second session on Friday, May 15 at 1pm.

To register attendance at either session, show goers should contact Fiona Caban via email or via phone 07 3216 4750.
