Canter recalls due to fuel pump flange

Fuel tank issue sparks ACCC recall notice for 3,671 Fuso trucks

A recall notice has been issued for 3,671 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks, with potential fire hazards stemming from a faulty fuel pump flange.

“On affected vehicles, there is the possibility the plastic fuel pump flange fitted in the top of the fuel tank may crack due to UV exposure,” the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission notice says.

“In extreme cases, this may lead to a fire hazard.”

The trucks were sold nationally from authorised Fuso dealers between March 25, 2011 and April 12, 2013.

The recall campaign identifier is RC01154P10FLANG and letters will be sent to owners of affected trucks.
