Australia Post and ShipIT strike ecommerce deal

Link between firms aims to ease the workload of online retailers

Software company ShipIT has formed a partnership with Australia Post that it says will simply the delivery of ecommerce goods.

ShipIT, which acts a medium between ecommerce platforms and couriers, claims its cloud-based integrated order and shipping management system is able to automate the shipping process and provide online retailers with order and delivery information in one hub, accessible from anywhere.

ShipIT CEO George Plummer believes speeding up the process through automated shipping labels and a reduction in data entry will make a huge difference for online retailers in a growing market.

“Online shopping is growing at an exponential rate in Australia,” Plummer says.

“This partnership with Australia Post will save online retailers precious time, having all the information they need on one screen, without having to log into multiple systems.”

“They can easily track shipments to clients, improve their customer service and prevent undelivered packages or lost parcels.

“Shipping has traditionally been a manual process. This means that merchants have to cut and paste order data, handwrite courier labels and manually create customs forms and documents.

“With ShipIT, this process is automated and significantly reduces the administrative work for companies, allowing them more time to focus on more productive tasks.”

As a result of the partnership, Australia Post’s general manager global ecommerce platforms and marketplaces Ben Franzi says its customers will be able to assimilate their ecommerce platforms, accounting, inventory management and point-of-sale systems.

“As well as equipping businesses to manage their shipping and eCommerce needs directly, our partnership with ShipIT provides businesses with greater insight and transparency across all their logistical requirements, resulting in improved visibility and a seamless delivery experience through the supply chain,” Franzi says.

The ShipIT pricing structure falls into three tiers; with the $50 per month ‘Standard’ subscription providing 400 shipments, the $80 per month ‘Professional’ subscription offering 4000 shipments and the $150 per month ‘Enterprise’ subscription expanding to 20,000 shipments.
