Michelin complete X Multi range with new trailer tyre for highway and regional work
Tyre manufacturer Michelin Australia has unveiled the X Multi T, a trailer position tyre to round out its X Multi range.
Designed for regional and highway use, Michelin says the new X Multi T tyre has a casing design that “contributes to lower downtime and cost per kilometre” and a “rounded shoulder design” that helps “prevent shoulder splits and tread separation caused by lateral scrubbing.”
The company says the tyre’s wider tread contributes to even wear and a U-shape groove reduces stone retention.
The trailer tyre joins the X Multi Z steer tyre and X Multi D drive tyre in the Michelin range, which is “specifically designed to contribute to fleets operational profitability due to longer tyre life, improved driving performance, and enhanced safety,” it says.
According to internal tests, the tyre maker says trucks can save up to 16 per cent annually in a cost per kilometre basis if all axles are fitted with the X Multi range.
