Rugged tablet provider Xplore Technologies has unveiled the XSLATE B10, a 10.1-inch tablet computer designed for work in a variety of industries.

The tablet features eight ports, an IP65 rating, an Intel Core i5 or i7 vPro CPU, and front- and rear-facing cameras according to Xplore, suiting those in the mining, utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation fields.

"After spending a day on the job with the XSLATE B10, you’ll understand why this truly mobile, fully featured tablet PC sets a new standard in ruggedness and connectivity," Xplore Technologies’ president and COO Mark Holleran says.

"Built with unfailing protection in mind, it endures extreme work environments," he says.

"At 10.1 inches, it’s compact, yet commanding in the field."

The B10 includes a fingerprint reader for security; USB 3.0, microSD, microHDMI, microSIM, audio and RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports for connectivity; and the option for a swappable battery for extended usability.

The tablet also includes a Wacom pen, satellite GPS, xCapture Pro camera application, 4G LTE broadband, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

An integrated barcode scanner and a HDMI input port are available as options, as is a keyboard, vehicle docking station and kickstand.
