Volvo Group’s executive vice president group trucks operations Mikael Bratt has announced his intentions to leave the company.

A member of the company’s executive team, Bratt is joining automotive safety company Autoliv as business area president.

"It is with mixed feelings that I leave the Volvo Group after 27 fantastic years," Bratt says.

"The Group has entered a new exciting phase, at the same time my new job as head of a complete business area offers a challenge that I cannot resist."

Volvo says a recruitment process will commence early 2016, but Bratt will remain in his current position for up to six months as his replacement is found.

November numbers

Volvo has recorded mixed results in its November truck deliveries, seeing an even result in its consolidated brands but a 436 per cent total growth in its non-consolidated operations.

For its wholly-owned operations, the truck maker delivered 18,333 trucks for the month, just ahead of the 18,251 figure from the same month in 2014, and sits three per cent above the year-to-date figures recorded 12 months prior.

While the numbers seem steady, local numbers hugely varied for its consolidated brands.

While Western Europe and Eastern Europe saw a 40 per cent and 37 per cent increase respectively on November last year, the rest of the world fell.

North America dropped the least at two per cent, Asia came in second at nine per cent, and South America decreased the most at 63 per cent.

The other markets fell 37 per cent.

Of its consolidated brands, Renault Trucks was the only brand to see growth on November 2014, at 54 per cent.

Volvo dropped 10 per cent, UD dropped 15 per cent, and Mack fell 11 per cent globally.

In size terms, the company’s heavy-duty numbers fell two per cent on the same month last year.

However, its medium-duty and light-duty vehicles rose one per cent and 38 per cent respectively.

On the non-consolidated side, Volvo Group increased vehicle deliveries by 436 per cent.

VE Commercial Vehicles (Eicher) jumped 33 per cent on the same time in 2014, while Dongvo (Hangzhou) Truck Company (UD) saw a seven per cent rise.

Though there were no figures from the brand in 2014, the big movement came from Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company (Dongfeng Trucks), which delivered 9,205 trucks over the month.
