MiX Telematics launches risk assessment offering

As an extension of its fleet management solution, the new software analyses the risk of each journey undertaken

Global fleet and asset management company MiX Telematics has unveiled MiX Journey Management, a new electronic journey risk management solution.

Designed for fleet operators, MiX Telematics’ Australasian head of sales and marketing Lianna Giuffre says the new offering integrates with its current MiX SafeDrive fleet management solution.

“Fleet operators across a diverse range of industries can manage their journeys from start to finish online, instead of using outdated manual alternatives that are time consuming and error-prone,” Giuffre says.

“The solution’s integration with MiX SafeDrive is an industry first and also means customers are exposed to a host of other features to improve safety and efficiency within their business.”

MiX Telematics says the solution enables customers to instigate business processes based upon journey requests, approvals, and real-time monitoring.

Customers are provided with exception-based notifications, which allow operations staff to deviate vehicles from the route plan; road hazard assessments, which include checks for roadworks, weight limitations, and height restrictions; static compliance checks, which are based upon the state of the vehicle and driver; and detailed reports that cover journey numbers, risks taken, and approvals.

In analysing the risk exposure of a chosen journey, MiX Telematics says the solution covers driver, passenger, and cargo protection; impact on operator reputation, including service quality and compliance; and the potential influence the journey may have on the environment and the surrounding community.

MiX Journey Management is an extension to MiX Fleet Manager Premium and MiX SafeDrive.
