Scania signs record truck deal with Stobart

Scania’s presence in the UK trucking scene has been given a boost with a new 2,000 unit deal

Scania has broken its European sales record, coming to terms with UK trucking company Eddie Stobart Limited for more than 2,000 new trucks.

Involving a number of Scania dealerships in the country, for both the vehicles and for repair and maintenance commitments, the deal will see the trucks be delivered over a two-year period from March.

“We are naturally delighted that the long-established relationship between our organisations has not only flourished but continues to grow,” Scania Great Britain managing director Claes Jacobsson says.

“We are now very much looking forward to fulfilling this latest order and backing it with second-to-none service nationwide.”

Featuring G-Series and R-Series trucks with Highline cabs and 410 or 450hp engines, the vehicles will be supplied on 36-month contracts, which covers repair, maintenance, and the road fund licence.

“Scania has long played a major role in our fleet and we are naturally extremely pleased to be once again committing to the marque,” Eddie Stobart Limited executive chairman William Stobart says.

“We have been impressed with Scania’s operating economy over the life of the vehicle and the performance of Scania’s 410 and 450 SCR-only Euro 6 engines.

“These factors, together with the consistent levels of service provided by Scania’s dealer network, are the reasons behind our decision to opt for Scania.”

The upcoming order is the fourth between Scania and Stobart since 2010, the first two of which covered 1,000 vehicles followed by a 1,500 truck order.
