Caltex opens truck stop in Port Botany

New Sydney location aims to capture air and shipping freight carriers

Caltex Australia has opened a new truck stop in Banksmeadow, New South Wales, hoping to service transporters accessing Sydney’s air and sea freight hubs.

The Banksmeadow location has 16 ultra-high-flow pumps, capable of 130-litres per minute; 24/7 access to Vortex diesel, diesel, and AdBlue; and has StarCard facilities.

“The new site is ideally positioned between Sydney’s two major international gateways – Port Botany and Sydney Airport – and connected to the key arterial roads that service approximately 7,750 commercial vehicles travelling into the area every day,” Caltex Australia’s general manager business to business sales Scott Nicholls says.

“Trucks delivering to, or loading from, the Port Botany and Mascot areas will greatly benefit from the new site.”

The new facility, attached to Caltex’s Banksmeadow fuel terminal, means Caltex’s national truck network features 200 dedicated truck stops and 300 truck-friendly locations around Australia.

Located at 1-3 Penrhyn Road, Banksmeadow between the DP World and Hutchinson Ports operations in Botany Bay, Nicholls says the truck stop is part of a changing local landscape.

“With nearby motorway expansions planned, the Banksmeadow truck stop has a growing role to play providing convenient access to the high-quality fuels the transport industry needs to perform their critical function in our economy,” he says.

Caltex Australia says current plans point to another 10 locations being opened in 2016, backing up the 15 new stores opened in 2015.
