Detroit website, videos offer DD15 factory insight

Assembly line and deconstruction videos form part of DD15 website

Penske Power Systems is looking to tap into the Australian Detroit engine fan base with a multimedia and informational series on the DD15.com.au website.

The website, which features an assembly line video and a teardown video of the Detroit DD15 engine, covers content from spec sheets and historical data to warranty information and virtual tours.

“The new content on DD15.com.au delivers amazing vision of Detroit’s world-class production facilities, and highlights the investment in quality and reliability down the line, which are the hallmarks of in-service DD15 engines,” Penske Power Systems’ on-highway director Kevin Dennis says.

“The engineering excellence and first-class manufacturing processes at Detroit pave the way in the industry and are ingrained in our DD15 engine’s DNA, which is why the DD15 is one of the most reliable engines in the market today.”

While the written data may appeal most to those with a DD15 engine, or those looking to purchase one, the time-lapse video capturing the construction of a DD15 engine in Michigan from beginning to end provides an insight into the manufacturing process and may have a wider appeal.

The deconstruction video, showing the final minutes of an engine in a Melbourne workshop, takes the viewer through the engines removal from the truck all the way to a separation of parts.

The videos can be seen at DD15.com.au or below.
