Isuzu launches NLR 45-150 Servicepack for tradespeople

On the back of success with the Tradepack model, Isuzu has unveiled a compartment-packed trade companion

Joining tipper, Tradepack, and Traypack models in its ready-to-work range, Isuzu Trucks has launched the new NLR 45-150 Servicepack model to the Australian market.

Able to be driven on a car licence, the new NLR variant is equipped with either a five-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) and is designed for the “specialist tradesperson or contractor”.

Isuzu Australia chief engineer, product strategy Simon Humphries says the model is compact and nimble enough to handle driveways but also capable of a GVM of 4,500kg, GCM of 7,000kg, and towing capacity of up to 2,500kg.

“The Servicepack is the perfect fit-for-purpose solution, it’s the same size as a traditional ute and boasts a superior 1.5 tonne payload and the full suite of trucking credentials behind it,” Humphries says.

“Drivers can be confident they’re carrying their load legally, and in turn the handling and control is second to none as the Servicepack is custom-built to carry these payloads.

“The compact proportions of the Servicepack make it perfect for accessing work sites and getting as close to the task as you need to on domestic jobs.”

The Servicepack has eight different size lockers, each with internal LED lights, in two rows on the back for storage, and a central storage area in the gap between with load-rated tie-down hooks.

For towing, it features an integrated-step towbar, and for visibility, the NPR has a reversing camera.

Isuzu Australia national sales manager Andrew Harbison says the model is about flexibility.

“We’ve listened to our customers and responded to the needs of the market with a durable, multi-purpose truck that can still fit into a commercial car park or suburban driveway or garage,” he says.

“The storage capabilities and central locking system have all been developed for customer convenience, security, and the maximum amount of productivity, you won’t waste time making multiple trips for those extra tools you might need on a job.”

Powering the Servicepack is a 4JJ1-TCS, 3.0-litre diesel turbo-charged and intercooled Euro 5 engine, providing 110kW of power @ 2,800rpm and torque of 375 Nm @ 1,600 – 2,800rpm.

Inside the ECE-R29 compliant cab, the NLR has driver and passenger airbags and pretensioner load limiting seatbelts on driver and passenger seats for safety.

The manufacturer’s Digital AudioVisual Entertainment (DAVE) unit is fitted, providing a 6.2″ LCD touch screen, DAB+ digital radio, and Bluetooth with voice recognition.

The truck also features the Isuzu Stability Control System (IESC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), and Anti-Skid Regulator (ASR).
