Tony Ireland Isuzu top dealership again

Townsville-based Isuzu dealership has been awarded the top gong for the second year in a row

 

Isuzu Australia has crowned Tony Ireland Isuzu as its Truck Dealer of the Year award winner for the second year in a row.

Dealer principal Tony Ireland says the win for the Townsville, Queensland dealership is a strong recognition for prioritising the customer.

“I’m incredibly humbled to have achieved this award two years in a row,” he says.

“I have really dedicated staff who are passionate about the Isuzu brand and they live that passion and enthusiasm every day with our customers.”

“I thought we had performed at least as well as last year but expected another Isuzu Dealership could have leapfrogged us.

“The competition is pretty close at the top of the field.”

With Isuzu Australia launching the award in 2014 to recognise overall excellence in dealership operation, the back-to-back wins for Tony Ireland’s dealership mean he has a hold on the title – a hold he doesn’t want to lose.

“We have identified three key areas that we can improve year on year,” he says.

“Naturally the last thing I will do is tell you what they are!”

Isuzu Australia business planning manager and company secretary Paul Evans says the win shows dealerships that a rounded approach is required.

“To win this award, the team must excel in every area, no matter their size or sales volume, and Tony and his team are great exponents of these values,” Evans says.

“Customer service is a fundamental component of Isuzu’s success in the industry and with these awards, we encourage dealerships to better their services, so that the customers can really benefit.

The evaluation criteria covered presentation standards, training, customer care, activity-based KPIs, and inventory management.
