Hino announces LED light kits for 300, 500 Series

Driving light kits for 300 and 500 Series Hino trucks have been designed for local conditions

Hino Australia has announced driving LED light kits for its 300 and 500 Series trucks, which the company says are “specially designed for local conditions and purpose-built for the trucks.”

The result of five years of research in conjunction with Japanese engineers and a local Australian original equipment manufacturer, Hino says it has “a driving light kit for its 300 and 500 Series vehicles which are produced under the stringent standards of the ‘QDR’ (Quality, Durability, and Reliability) policy.”

With spotlight visibility up to 570m and a wider than 50m spread of light up to 329m, the front-mounted, two-piece light kits can be installed using special brackets that complement the genuine Hino bull bar, the company says.

Hino Australia’s parts and accessories manager Kirk Harrison says as “Australia’s lighting requirements are in many ways different to other countries and special solutions needed to be applied.”

“Drivers face the ever-present danger of animal strike in country and even outer-urban regions and our road system is inconsistent in the light patterns it offers.

“Even in suburban areas it is possible to plunge from a well illuminated kerbed and guttered section to an unlit B-grade roadway and back again all in a matter of a few hundred metres.

“Rather than relying on the road system it is up to the truck operator to take the necessary safety precautions.”

A combination of flood and spot visibility, the light kits offer a 50,000-hour lifespan, equating to six years of 24-hour use, and a three-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

They also feature instantaneous on-off functionality.
