Mercedes-Benz Vito range recalled again

The second recall in as many months affects vans sold in the past two years

Mercedes-Benz has recalled a large number Vito van models over fuel line issues, marking the second large recall notice for the light commercial range in two months.

According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, the fitted “high pressure fuel line may not have been manufactured to specification” and “could result in fuel leakage.”

“Diesel fuel leakage on to the road surface may result in an increased risk of accident to the vehicle concerned and other road users,” the notice says.

Impacting vehicles sold nationally from July 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016, the recall notice asks customers to follow the instructions contained in a letter that will be sent out to them.

The letter will detail the next steps to take.
