Penske pinches Cummins’ on-highway executive

Penske Power Systems appoints new director of on-highway to begin in September

Powertrain supplier Penske Power Systems has announced Sean McLean as its new on-highway director.

Replacing Kevin Dennis who was promoted to managing director of Penske Commercial Vehicles in June, McLean will focus on the Detroit and Allison brands across Australia and New Zealand.

That focus will include overseeing on-highway sales and aftersales, product and technical support, and dealer development.

He will also maintain the working relationship with vehicle manufacturers Western Star and Freightliner, and transmission manufacturer Allison.

Arriving at Penske Power Systems with management, development, sales and marketing experience stemming from a 22-year stint with engine giant Cummins South Pacific – including most recently as marketing and on-highway products general manager – McLean says he is hoping to help add to a growing reputation.

“The Penske organisation in Australia and New Zealand is quickly gaining a reputation for its customer- focused approach to doing business in the on-highway market,” he says, “and I look forward building upon this in my role.”

Penske Power Systems predicant and CEO Rob Sisk says he will, thanks to “a wealth of experience in heavy-duty diesel engines for the on-highway market, along with a strong passion for customer service.”

McLean takes up the role towards the end of September.
