Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans recalled

Light commercial vehicles recalled over window apertures

Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific has recalled an unknown number of Sprinter vans over issues with the window apertures.

According to an Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) notice, the “bonding between the multi-layered paintwork around the window apertures may not conform to adhesion specifications.”

“There is the potential that as the result of an accident, bonding between the window and window aperture may fail, resulting in the window coming loose from the vehicle and increasing the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants,” the notice says.

Sold nationally, Mercedes-Benz says affected customers will be notified by letter.

The recall follows an earlier recall notice in March where a number of vans were affected by fuel injector line issues.
