Nissan tweaks Navara line-up

The new range features updated suspension and a new 4x4 variant

Nissan Australia has tweaked the existing Navara ute range with addition of a new work focused variant and revised suspension for coil sprung models.

The Series 2 lineup now features an SL 4×4 variant with uses the top spec YS23DDTT 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine which makes 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque.

The SL also gets a reversing camera and NissanConnect smartphone integration as standard.

To keep up the work place theme the interior gets vinyl flooring and 16-inch steel wheels. Transmission choices are the 7-speed auto or the 6-speed manual available across the rest of the range.

Elsewhere in the line up all RX models now use vinyl flooring while ST models get sat nav as standard fare. The addition of the SL Navara takes the range out to a choice of 30 different variants.

The previously standard sunroof on ST-X models has now become an option.

ST and ST-X models have also seen a price rise of $1,000.

The current NP300 ST-X and its coil sprung multi link rear suspension didn’t fare too well on our recent load and tow test.

Interestingly after extensive local testing this Series 2 update has also seen revised suspension with the addition of new shock absorbers all round as well as new coil springs and rear dampers.
